the hearts behind the lens
Meet the magic makers
Lover of authenticity, chasing the path less followed, and dark chocolate.
When I'm not working, I'm busy being a mother of two, advocating for social issues (queer photographer here!), and playing the piano. I've always been an artist- from taking art classes all throughout school to expand my knowledge of techniques, to drawing on the walls since I was little, finding ways to create in places that most would consider a little unusual.
When my camera is in my hands, the world is my canvas- and I am so excited to see you in it!
One of the most common questions I get from inquiring clients is how I manage posing despite my "anti-posing" style. What my approach consists of mostly is...
PROMPTS!
I give my couples activities and games to play out during our sessions. Things like chasing each other around and playing tag, for example, create authentic laughter, leaving you space to let your inner-child shine through, worry-free from the anxiety of "does this look right?"
I want you to focus on your partner and your day when we work together- not me or my camera. I am here to make taking photos as easy and care-free for you.
Photography is my way of connecting with the world. The way I approach my art is an extension of my experience in life. I never loved having my photos taken. Between the stereotypical confidence issues every teen faces, and faking a smile over and over every time mom asked to document our latest outing on Facebook, it just wasn't my thing (love you, Mom).
Ironically, I ended up here, in this career. But, I have found this qualifies me in a way like no other to support clients in their search for authentic photography that feels comfortable without sacrificing beauty.
Ready to bring your dream wedding to life? Say hey now.
This is my second shooter- and husband, Tanner!
Tanner jumped into the photography world upon meeting me years ago to act as a supporting role during worst case scenarios (two pregnancies as a wedding photographer is a battle, to say the least- lol!) but he is now a seasoned second shooter, ready to offer a different- much taller- perspective of your wedding day. With a photography team that works together on and off the photography field, you're in reliable, loving hands.
Having a second shooter on your wedding day? Total game-changer. While one of us is up front catching the “OMG we’re really doing this” moment, the other might be sneaking a shot of your loved ones crying (because they SO will be). It’s like having two cameras, one love story, and zero missed moments. Double the angles, double the laughs, and way more chances to catch Uncle Joe busting out the worm on the dance floor. Basically, it means you get all the memories—big, small, and wildly unexpected. Read more about it here.
My Dream Team
Why having two photographers is such a wedding day asset...
Meet Kaylie, my choice videographer and a true storyteller at heart. As a mother of two, fellow advocate, and thrifting queen, she brings a calm, grounded energy to every wedding day- but balances it out with the perfect amount of quirkiness and hype-woman vibes. Her films are rooted in authenticity, focusing on real moments as they unfold rather than forced perfection. Her perspective pairs effortlessly with my photography style, creating a seamless and honest visual of your day.
If you're looking for a wedding videographer that will capture all the details and feels, this is my number one recommendation. You can view some of her work here, or reach out to her using the contact form at the bottom of my home page.
